I have ordered a couple of Ian's amazing electric mandolins. He suggested that we also try a design of my own. I've been having great fun.

See . . . nothing to it!
Might consider flipping the peghead so that one's hand doesn't bash into the extended area beyond the first fret.

Hi Steve,
In order to avoid the problem you have foreseen in your post, the nut won't be exactly where the headstock shape begins, it will be where you would expect the first fret to be if it was. This way, we can keep that awesome look going, and get more string length behind the nut. That will allow a slinkier feel when bending as there is more string material stretching. Have you seen Joe Brent's review of the glow in the dark beast? http://joebrent.tumblr.com/post/2898...w-i-wanted-one
I love it...A George Jetson signature e-mando!

Great review, awesome design, can't wait to see it!
Steve
Does anyone have any preferences among the three designs?

I strongly prefer the rounded bottom (always have ).
Plus, I strongly dislike the idea of having the controls across the bottom. I'd also move the volume control so it closer to the strings thereby allowing for easier swells.
Trevor, I'd love to see your design come to life. Good luck with it!
