Congratulations, your way coolness carries no doubt. She's another Great Gibson Nubian Queen. I was lucky enough to get my 1915 blackface A4 Boo (AKA Boo Coo) this year. I hope you are as happy with her, Boo purrs with a sweetness thats hard to describe.

Thanks Jamie and Hank. She's had a new fretboard and headstock verneer put on some time ago. Whoever did it opted to leave off the fleur di lis. I just ordered one from Luthiers Supply Co. The sound is super sweet, and fairly loud, every bit as loud as my '21 F-2.
Funny thing, There are varying opinions about when she was made. So I went to the Mandolin Archives to see when other mandolins with serial nos. close to her's were being made. There she was. Someone had archived her already.

She's a ser. no. 9041. Which would put her somewhere around 1909 to 1911. There is a number stamped on inside of the neck block that i presume is the FON. Would that number help pinpoint the mfg date?

That mandolin has a lot of good music in it, aching to get out.

Honestly, she's not quite as slick as the posted photos would suggest, but still not bad for her age.
