    Here is a new, handbuilt, American-made F-style under $1,000. It looks somewhat crude, but less crude than some of the builder's earlier mandolins. I do not know if it is any good. You pays your money and you takes your chance.

    Someone mentioned Bryan England - he's got his caney creek f-style listed on his site for 1300 (nfi). closest i've found to the mark for new . . .

    I'd be looking into these if I wanted an American-built F-style mando under $1K.
