I miss snow days (we don't get them too much out here ) but I don't miss the digging out that follows them. LOL

Ten inches? That's all? Here in western NY, home of "lake effect," we don't even count it until it gets over a foot. We had blowing snow and below-zero this weekend, but I didn't miss either of my gigs. Beautiful full moon shining on the snow Saturday night...

We had about 6" here in the NC Piedmont over the weekend. What'd I do? Why, cook a lot and eat a lot, of course

Yeah, things pretty much came to a grinding halt for us, too...we're just not set up to deal with it. I did a ton of sledding with the kids Saturday and Sunday, shovelled off part of the road out of my neighborhood so I could get out Sunday, played a bunch of FFcP excercises, and worked on a new Celtic tune out of a book I'm working through. I also tried to talk my daughter into singing with my accompaniment, but she said she needed time to "get the song down."

Alan H, you people are crazy...brrrrrrr.

It's pretty funny to hear you folks talk about snow like this. It's just winter up here! Today is a nice winter day, about 20〫F. By some freak of nature, the Saturday night before Christmas, it went down to -68〫F, apparently he coldest temp in the world that day.

What do we do in Milwaukee if we get 10 inches of snow? Everything that you would do if you had no snow at all!

I open the windows on my work truck when it gets up to 30F; really!!!

We get out the harnesses and dogsled and go for a little run. If its the weekend we make a little camping trip of it.

We get lots of snow in Western Michigan along the lake.

I must know 500 tunes like Cherokee Shuffle.

Here in NE Tenn, we also got the same 8-10" of snow, some places getting more. At least it was not as bad as the storm before Xmas that knocked power out for weeks.

I was literally stuck at work for a few days, but lucky for me that I work at a local hospital, so a bed, hot meal, and shower were available. BUT I can not take any instruments to work, so I was without any form of entertainment. Nothing to do till my shift started each night and nothing to do but try and sleep when it ended. It sucked. But at least the coffee was good
If it ain't got at least 3 strings on it, it ain't worth playing.

Just sittin back, pickin and grinnin!

Thank you AMY RAY for giving me an interest in mandolin and bouzouki, as well as Bill M, and countless others!
