    Default Case for A-jr?

I've got a snakehead A-Jr, and I really need to get a proper case for it. I've got the original case, but it offers little protection. I would love to find one of eastman's A model cases, but I have struck out so far. Pegasus or Calton are options. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I have the same mandolin and have been very happy with a case sold by (among other places) Elderly. The case goes by the name Canadian (also Everest and TKL), You can get a shaped arched type for the A jr.--I have a black one but check to see if that also comes in tweed. I think you'd like the case.

Jeremy I assume you are on the road quite a bit playing bass, how much do you travel with your mandolin? I have a Canadian case like Randy mentions which housed my paddle head for years. I then got a A-Jr that I received with an original soft shell case that I guess is worth something but not at all my choice for carrying JR out of the house, so I use the Canadian for that. I think I paid Elderly $60 bucks for it about ten years back. Seems quite sturdy with decent hardware.

Thanks for your input, Bill and Randy. I'm on and off the road, usually playing bass, but Jr. may be coming out with me in the future. That's why my first instinct is to go with a road case. But I'm really glad to know that the Canadian case will fit, I wasn't sure if it would. Until now nobody has been able to say for sure whether or not the Canadian case would work.

Yea you might want a little better fit than the Canadian then Jeremy. The headstock is clear at the end by about two inches but the body is not as tight as a Calton. I doubt yourr Jr. is going down in price any time soon, maple back as I recall, so keep her safe.

    Hope to hear ya soon.

I use that same tkl or canadian case for my A4 paddlehead. Fits pretty darn well.

Thanks again for the advise, guys. Bill, it does have a maple back, and I think that you're right, I should probably spend the money now and really take care of it. I got in touch with Sam at Pegasus, and that might be the way to go.
