Great story Ronnie told recently in an interview about his and Bill Monroe's Loars - most have probably heard it. After Ronnie had gotten his Loar, he and Bill were working at the same show or festival some months later. Ronnie was very proud of it so he handed it to Bill for him to inspect. Bill immediately played one of his spunkier tunes and handed it back to him with a big scratch in the top. Ronnie didn't say anything, however he was convinced that it was in retaliation for the time when Ronnie was a youngster (probably teenager), he sat on Bill's Loar and cracked the top (or otherwise damaged it).
