    Default Another 5 string

this one from Eastern Europe the Bugarija,('a Croatian instrument used in tamburica ensembles' )
the treble strings are a unison pair.
I was told, they are traditionally tuned as many do the Appalachian dulcimer , to an open chord,

or as the player in the WA group 'Balkan Cabaret', played it .. as a tenor guitar
DGBee.. being a guitar player .. the instrument is guitar shaped , after all.

Interesting that the headstock is similar to a strat headstock. How old is this instrument?

Croatia is a very old culture. that part of the former Yugoslavia is the south eastern border of the
'Holy Roman'/Hapsburg Empire .. where it meets the Old Ottoman and Slavic Orthodox Christian church empires .

I expect there to have been builders of musical instruments there for as long as there have been elsewhere.
