    Default Music suggestions

I'm working my way through Thomas Morley's Canzonets which are great because they are fun to play but not too hard (all first position, for example) -- helpful to me as a still fairly new self-taught player. I'm wondering if you have recommendations of other composers or collections from the Renaissance, Baroque, or Classical eras who would be about that level. I guess I'd consider myself early intermediate if I had to label it.

I downloaded the Canzonets from the Werner Icking site because as an amateur player living in the boonies where there are no classical mandolin teachers or other players, I can play along with its midi files. It is organized by composer which is why I thought I'd ask for suggestions. I realize it may be way too broad a question, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask.

    Thanks,
    Laurie

Try the Bach cello suites arranged for violin solo. They are available for free at the Icking site.

Try this Mutopia mandolin search. If that link does not work go to The Mutopia Project, then type in mandolin to get a bunch of good music specifically composed for mandolin.
