I'm working my way through Thomas Morley's Canzonets which are great because they are fun to play but not too hard (all first position, for example) -- helpful to me as a still fairly new self-taught player. I'm wondering if you have recommendations of other composers or collections from the Renaissance, Baroque, or Classical eras who would be about that level. I guess I'd consider myself early intermediate if I had to label it.
I downloaded the Canzonets from the Werner Icking site because as an amateur player living in the boonies where there are no classical mandolin teachers or other players, I can play along with its midi files. It is organized by composer which is why I thought I'd ask for suggestions. I realize it may be way too broad a question, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask.
Thanks,
Laurie
