I met Grady Jones yesterday. He was in my village on the west of Ireland. I'm afraid I didn't recognise him (or his name, when he told me it). What's even more embarrassing is that I met him in MY music shop in Ireland!

I'm new to mandolins, so the name was new to me. He's a very nice chap. I just hope I didn't make a fool of myself by not knowing him.

What do others know of him, and his work?

Steve, I haven't had the chance to play his instruments, but take a look at this. If Elderly's willing to carry his stuff, it's probably very good! Here's a shot from their site:

Grady is a fine gentleman and a decent builder. I owned one of his F4's for awhile. Nice instrument. Just a great man.

Any Grady Jones mando owners who care to comment on his mandolins? I don't see very many advertised for sale, only two in the past couple of years.
