    Default New Classical Mandolin Video

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlFIYLrDvbo

Arrival of the Queen of Sheba (Handel).

Hope you like it! The British Mandolinist Simon Mayor played this on one of his early albums (although his was played a halfstep up I believe - he also played it on TV, check it out on youtube!).

Interestingly, the lowest note on the viola part is a G, so it fits nicely on a mandolin (which means I didn't have to invest in a mandola..even though i'd like to).

    Hi Ben,

Terrific playing and arrangement of one of my favourite pieces. I love your videos which are both entertaining and educational... especially like the way you've been able to split this one into all the different instrument parts. Great stuff again!

You're having too much fun, Ben. Don't you know that "classical" is supposed to be boring?!

    Love it.. that's real creative.

I don't suppose you play Bill Monroes "My Last Days On Earth" - OK not exactly classical as such, but in case you haven't come across it there's a great version by the Nashville Mandolin Ensemble in the mp3 (classical) section.

But whatever you record, keep 'em coming for sure!
