    Default 1st Mediterennean Lutherie Conference

    1st Mediterennean Lutherie Conference

The Sparta Municipal Cultural Center, the Laconian Association “Friends of the Traditional and Rempetiko Music” and “Paratiritis” Journal organize a conference dedicated to Anastasios and Epaminondas Stathopoulos, founder of the legendary American Epiphone company and one of the first bouzouki manufacturers, in the form that we know today, whose origin was from Laconia!

The event will take place at the Cultural Center of the Spartan City in Sparta, Saturday 13 June at 8.30 pm.

There will be instruments of Stathopoulos and modern luthiers as Fronimopoulos, Spourdalakis, Karellas etc.

This sounds very interesting. Since I am on the other side of the world, I will not be able to attend, but I did want to mention that my high school football team was the Spartans! (I played trumpet in the school band.)
