    When examining a vintage instrument the last thing I look at is the label. I've looked at all the external characteristics and tentatively decide what I have is or is not authentic. After the instrument has had its chance to tell me what it is, then I look at the label.

    I always look for Lloyd's signature on the label first. It's never been there but I always look.
