    Default Mandolin Hero!

Is this for real? There's a game Mandolin Hero a la Guitar Hero?

Sorry, not an F model. I like the whammy bar - wish I had one on my actual electric mandolin!

Look at the list of mandolin players. Some well known to us, some surprises. That may be a whole other thread ...

LMAO! I've never before heard or read the verb shred used in the same sentence as mandolin.

I especially enjoyed this line: "Finish the fight on Legendary difficulty by defeating Sting in Dueling Mandolins."

Yeah, that is a mistake. Should have been "Duelling Lutes."

Though to be perfectly honest, I have used "shred" in conversations and writing, referring to rare occasions when I felt I was really hitting it. And, believe it or not, it's shown up on the message board 86 times - including this post! I don't see any reason we should take a back seat to other instruments in this regard.

    Rock on!

PS: I wonder where the money goes if you try to buy one of these things?

Er, not exactly ... Was it Gertrude Stein who said, "A mandolin is a mandolin is a mandolin is a mandolin?"

Perhaps at one time a mandolin was a little lute, but now it is a MANDOLIN!

Quick! Somebody help that kid! He's planting his PINKY!!!

But all seriousness aside, a couple of clever young fellas...they may have a future in producing music videos.

We'll see "Mandolin Hero" someday and pigs can fly too.

OMG! Not only that but there are a few other tipoffs that this is bogus. Like "off-the-hingizzles character moves" - I don't think that would be approved by the marketing director. Or that Mandolin Hero versions I - III aren't available. Awww ...

Then again, half those bands probably are terrible. I think that list is lifted from some other site. Yeah, here it is. They just added Steven Tyler at the bottom.

Dang! This is actually pretty good work. Too bad such talent is misdirected. "Beware of the Dark Side ..."

Here's a role model for those kids:

"bunklefee here playing some Beatles on the mandolin.
when this vid was recorded i'd been playing mandolin for 5 minutes!!!
so i'm deffinatley a beginner but turned out ok.
    Mandolin is a Dean Playmate
Amp is the old line 6 flextone plus.

A bit of tremolo effect used."

Nice of him to include the technical information. And yes, just a bit of tremelo ...

And I found a prototype of Mandolin Hero! There's hope!!!

"Hi, this is my first game for GP2X, this is just a not-released prototype. The name is ironic and i'm thinking about the real name. Now it uses D-Pad, in the final release i will include touch support too.
    Sorry for the bad audio."

I think he should stick with the name. Seems to be available ...
