I'm trying to find some lyrics to this song, and I don't know who wrote/performed it. Someone played it at a jam last night and I've got it stuck in my head. We always sing harmony on the chorus and the "Fallin' in and out of love with you" part, which is all I know. Does anyone know who did this song?

That Chris Isaak's "What a wicked thing go say" song, "Willin'" and "Cool Water" are also standards at the monthly Tulsa Press Club jam. Guess that says something about the average age of the group, eh? We have lots of fun.

Pure Prairie League.... tabs and lyric sheets abound all over the web. The actual spelling, I believe is "Aimee"

I can see why you think you belong to me
I never tried to make you think, or let you see one thing for yourself
But now your off with someone else and I'm alone
You see I thought that I might keep you for my own

    Amy what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do

Don't you think the time is right for us to find
All the things we thought weren't proper could be right in time
    And can you see
Which way we should turn together or alone
I can never see whats right or what is wrong
(will it take to long to see)

    Amy what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do

    (Acoustic solo)

    Well now
    Amy what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do

Now it's come to what you want you've had your way
And all the things you thought before just faded into gray
    And can you see
That I don't know if it's you or if it's me
If it's one of us I'm sure we'll both will see
Won't you look at me and tell me

    Amy what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
    For a while, maybe longer
    Longer if I do

    Yeah now
    Amy what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do

Fallin' in and out of love with you
Fallin' in and out of love with you
Don't know what I'm gonna do, I'd keep
Fallin' in and out of love
    With you
"Pray for a good harvest, but keep hoeing."

Muchas gracias. No wonder I couldn't find it -- I was spelling it wrong.

    funny thing...

when Craig Fuller was writing that tune, the name Amie wasn't there yet...then a close friend had a beautiful daughter named Amy, and though it of course wasn't about her, the name worked out and became a huge hit...

then 20 years later or so, I'm dating this girl, named Amy, and taking her to see the Goshorn Brothers in Cincinnati, OH (Larry Goshorn was in Pure Prairie League and produced a record I was on) I'm trying to impress her backstage and then I find out she is the 'Amie' as Larry recognizes her and tells us all the story. Amy later filled me in on the details...that song will never be the same for me again...
