Does anyone know who won the Rockygrass instrument/band competitions? I'm most curious about mando and band and who the top 3 were.
I was too busy jamming and didn't make to the finals and no one there seemed to know for sure.

I know that Hot Lunch BG Band took second, because our fiddle player also plays with them. Sweet Sunny South took third, and a band out of North Carolina took first. I con't remember their name though... Somthing County Line, or somethin like that.

Was it Chatham County Line? #If so, that'd be great for those guys. #We met them at an open mic a couple of years ago and lent them our AT4033 as they'd forgotten theirs. #Let me know ...

Thanks for the info. I met half of hot lunch in Meadow Park. I had a great jam session on Friday night with Brant, Nancy, and David?. Great players and real nice too.
Anyway, we played inside a big tent that had a woodburning stove inside it. It was about 102 degrees inside with 20 people pack inside dancing, it was crazy but at least it was dry.
I didn't see any of them on Saturday so that's real cool they got second, that's a great achievement.
Hey Pat, Nancy was telling us about the jam in the tent with a woodburning stove. I was cracking up.

i can tell you most of the winners of the instrument competitions- as far as mando goes, a kid (14) from colorado named dominique took first, a guy named matt raum from tennessee took second, and i took third. on banjo, a fellow named brad cavanaugh took first. in guitar, i know the second and third winners- they are matt arcara from oregon, and a young guy named ian who plays with jacob joliff in pupville. and yes, it was chatham county line that took first in the band competition. joe
