Default any experience with the Eastman DAWG copies?

I really like the look of the Eastman DGM2 and have heard it from a youtube video, but wonder if anybody on here has had personal experience with one? I'm very happy with my current mandolin, but it's an F-style with f-holes and the DGM2 is a modified A with an oval hole and I like to have a little variety. It's just a shame it doesn't come in a mandola.

Anyway, if anybody's played one or heard one in person and has an opinion, please voice it.

I bought and sold a DGM2. Had really nice wood and design. The tone was way deeper than most Eastmans I had played due to the bigger body. For the money a very good instrument. One of a kind look. Just compared to my other instruments, did not get much playing time.

I played one that belongs to a fellow cafe member (who I believe still has it for sale). It has a very refined tone that's deep and clear, and beats out every other Eastman I have ever tried. I still think about it from time to time, wondering if I had missed 'the one' for not buying it on the spot.

Eastman also released a L&H mandola copy from Dawg's collection earlier this year. The Mandolin Store one earlier and it was no surprised that it sold pretty much immediately.

I've had my DGM-2 for a couple of weeks now and really like it. I bought it to use in an old timey band i'm in ... it's a lovely instrument with great deep tone. There are always things to change or putter with on just about any instrument. I'm happy ... i don't have any plans on seeing it go away.

Own both the DGM-1 and the DGM-2. Two fine instruments. The Giacomel copy is loud, bright, sassy, and a real pleasure to play. The Bacon copy has a deep, hollow ring that contrasts completely with the DGM-1. Also a real pleasure to play. Workmanship on both instrument seems impeccable to me. I have the later DGM-2 with the Eastman tailpiece rather than the Bacon copy they tried first.

Only oddity is that my DGM-2 came with "reverse" tuners, so the buttons turn opposite of what I'm used to. Don't know if that's standard, or just some of them.

I have one on the way. Like Allen, I have a DGM-1, which is a terrific instrument, so I was intrigued by the DGM-2, but couldn't find one locally to play. Then I saw this video from Bernunzio's, and was sold-- that's killer tone! I'll post about it once I receive it.
