Default hidden track on Tone Poets

Does anyone know the name of the song and who is playing the hidden track on Acoustic Disc's Tone Poets. It follows cut 16 on disc 1, which is Beppe Gambetta playing Ave Maria. After about a minute of silence, there's a great mando rhythmic instrumental that goes on for another 4 min. or so. I was unsuccessful in my google search to get any info on this. By chance I thought someone here might know

It's Mike Compton. I can't remember the name of the piece. I have the sheet music for it at home.

    Compton! I'm not surprised. Thanks.

Frisellian loop? Is that referring to Bill Frisell?

I went through various things I've gotten from Mike. It's called "Pompey Ran Away" and it appears in "A Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreighn Airs Adapted for the Fife, Violin, or German Flute" J.Aird 1780. Traditional Scottish tune.

You don't need it tabbed. The melody is easy. Two parts in the key of G and in 3/4 time. All the melody is played on the D and A strings. You can hear the 3rd (B) being played a lot in the A part. The walk up is on the D string. What's cool is all of Mike's subtle variations. Classic Compton.

    Jim,
Thanks! I went back through my "Book O' Tab's and there it was. I don't even know where i got it but the sheet I have is titled just as you posted. I have played that simple melody many, many times when I first started playing. I never really heard it when listening to the Tone Poets track but after replaying the melody again I went back and played Mike's version again and sure enough there it is buried in Mike's excellence!

I just got Tone Poets and was going to ask the same question.

What a great CD! It really makes me want to expand my library. So much music, so little time!
