Question mandolin tailpiece rib has bulged from maple back

any ideas? the tailpiece rib has bulged approx. 1/16" and extends 1" , but only from the back, the inside looks to be in place with the binder and i am not sure if the wood swelled in just this spot , does not look like a glue joint

    Take tension off the strings.

If possible post some pics and more info. That'll give our friendly local experts something to go on.

What kind of mando? What conditions does it live in - humidity etc?

i removed string tension and let it sit for a day to see if the mando would return to original but hasn't so far, humitiy is normal in house around 40% but a friend has had it in his studio for a couple weeks and i don't know the level there, although his other instruments haven't suffered the same fate. i think i;ll let it sit a day or two more and thought to shape the rib back even with the back, recolor and refinish.
