    Default International Luthiers Supply?

What's up with this outfit? I tried to call them yesterday to place an order and both phone lines were out. On a google search, it appears there are some Folk of the Wood type complaints against them. Someone thought the business was moving. Anyone had recent contact with ILS?

This has come up several times in the past. You can probably do a search. Some people had had less than satisfactory response from them, including myself. They seem to have decent products and prices but somehow unable to communicate well with the customers using the internet and the phone.

Thanks - good thing the phone lines were down yesterday.

Thumbs down Re: International Luthiers Supply?

Their phone lines are always either down, or they have a 24-hour busy signal. I bought - and paid for - a pretty large order from these good folks, a few months back. The shipment went out pretty expediently, but a few items were missing. There was no packing slip, or any other paperwork showing what I had ordered; what was in the box; what I had paid for. For the next three-weeks, I attempted to phone them 6-8 times every day (sometimes more often) and all I ever got was a busy signal. I emailed them. Nothing. Finally I just gave up. The missing items only totaled 12 or 15 bucks, so I just wrote it off as lesson learned. I had thought I was dealing with LMII (switched the letters in my head). Boy was I wrong! I now deal with LMII, and they have been fabulous at every turn.

My advice regarding International Luthiers Supply? THEY DON'T EXIST! Don't even attempt to do business with them.

They have a great website, with some wonderful, unique items.
But it is because of this thread and the two Mike had earlier pointed out that I am afraid to try them. Pity, really. Customer service means everything.
However, I do know of people who have successfully dealt with them.
I will just stick to my certain proven vendors.
