    D is for Django
    E is for Evan Marshall
    F is for Bela Fleck

L must be for Lloyd Loar (a double hit! -- like Mike Marshall for M)
Q is for Quicksburg Rendezvous (Ronnie McCoury)
    V is for Vernon Derrick
    Y is Yank for sure
X is for X-bracing (hey, the 'X' is always hard...)

No, I think M is for Monroe, regardless of your opinion of his playing style.

Anyone familiar with (trad.) song, "The Sailor's Alphabet"? One recorded version is on Fairport Convention's Babbacombe Lee album. Here are the Fairport version lyrics.

D is for Django? Did he play mandolin. I have only seen references to his guitar playing.

I met him once and heard something not of this world. I didn't know who he was, he was just sitting by himself, We chatted a while, and he said , "by the way I'm Joe Val. He was a nice guy, very humble.
