    Hey folks

Are radius fingerboards bought that way and then applied to the neck or is the neck curved and a fingerboard applied to its shape or is it totally different? thanks

Same as non radiused, just the fingerboard is radiused to fit the dimensions desired.

The board can be radiused either before or after it's glued to the neck.

If I understand your question correctly, the board is generally flat on the bottom gluing surface. It's relatively easy to mill two flat mating surfaces to glue together. The only instruments that I know of with a curved glueing surface are Fender electric guitars from certain years. It takes special tooling.
