So, I can't afford the $1000 strap hanger. I'm playing a 1997 Summit A-100, and I really don't want to install a strap button. It's really a great mando, and I don't to mess with it. However, I don't like to fasten the strap at the headstock. Where can I get a good strap that I could fasten under the fingerboard extension? I just have a thin piece of leather there right now, and it is very uncomfortable. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Tye the thin piece of leather to a wider strap, of leather , local shoe repair guy
can punch some new holes in an old belt, for you. if you dont want to buy the tools.

On the expensive side, but I love my Bailey strap. You'd be able to tie it under the extension. Really comfortable (custom length, suede-like back keeps strap from slipping) and secure (Hester bead is much more snug than any punch-hole.
