    Hey folks -

Anybody know where I can get a copy of David Long's Midnight to Memphis album, or One Hand on the Radio, his CD with Chris Sharp? (Or, for that matter, anything else he plays on other than Stomp with Mike Compton, which I already own). I can't find either of these CD's anywhere.

    Thanks,
    Steve

I'm with ya. I'd love to have the one with Chris Sharp. Maybe we could contact either of them...I don't know...

You can get the CDs direct from David. I think they're published by Big Eve Music.

I checked the url on the Midnight from Memphis CD when I got home. It was www.bigevemusic.com, but there's no sign of any link to David Long on that site. Looks like you'll have to find an updated contact for him.

Here's David's myspace page for those that are interested- David Long

Mike Compton is very accessible and I'm sure he'd get a contact for Long.

You might also try Steve Miklas at Acoustic Music Works in Pittsburgh. #I believe David Long is from Pittsburgh originally, and AMW had a few Long CDs when I last visited.

Also, I just checked CDBaby online. #They have both Midnight to Memphis and Chris Sharp/David Long.

I emailed David to purchase "Midnight to Memphis" but got no reply. I wound up buying it online.

The tune 'Bluegrass Romp' #off #Midnight in Memphis is a great jam tune. We play that one 'round here.

    And CD Baby says,

Thanks for the suggestions. The "permanently out of stock" bit on CD baby was what prompted this post in the first place. I'm taking webcam lessons with Mike Compton, so maybe I'll bring this up next time I take a lesson. I'll let you all know if I find anything.

Yeah, it's up to the artist themselves to re-supply CD Baby when they sell out. CD Baby will send you a note that you are out of stock.

This is kind of a bummer since many artists like David Long don't have big record deals and without retailers like CD Baby folks like us can't find these recordings.
