Dang! Just picked up a copy of the Hot Club Sandwich "Green Room" CD...awesome stuff! Listened to a few clips off of several Harmonious Wail CDs as well; I'll definitely be buying some of their stuff soon. But right up there with the best of 'em is the recording that Oliver Waitz (guitar) recorded with Jesper Rubner-Peterson (mandolin) titled "A Jazzy Note". I listened to a 30 second clip of "After You've Gone" on Itunes, and promptly bought the album.
I'm going broke trying to catch up with all of the fantastic mando-centric gypsy jazz music that's out there.

You can listen on Oliver's MySpace site. Great stuff!

Unfortunately, the going price in the US is $56 for the CD! However, here's a place at half that price. http://www.groovesinc.com/duo-vib....ncy=USD
Still high, but maybe worth it anyway.

If you don't require the liner notes, artwork, etc. of the label-issued CD, then $9.99 on Itunes is a pretty good deal for the Duo Vibracao album...especially given the uncommonly high price for this particular album elsewhere.
All else aside though, this really is an outstanding bit of music.

    Hello Gypsy Swing Mandolin Lovers,

great to hear that you like my Duo Vibracao Project!

The CD's are still very expensive in the USA.
If you are interested I can send you the CD directly for 22 USD including shipping from Europe!
I think the Cover Art is also very beautiful. It comes with a 6 page Digipack!

This is a great album- Stephane Wrembel with David Grisman, "Gypsy Rumble". #Unfortunately I found only one copy on Ebay. # <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/Stephane-Wrembel-Trio-Gypsy-Rumble-2005-rare-CD_W0QQitemZ270258117854QQihZ017QQcategoryZ30

Let's not forget Django's Cadillac out of Oregon. Very hot mando, guitar, clarinet, vocals. Google 'em.

Hey Fishdawg40, my wallet continues to lose weight thanks to good people like you. I'm a sucker for anything featuring Grisman, so I went ahead and purchased the Gypsy Rumble CD off of Ebay. I'd never heard of Stephane Wrembel before, but listened to a few clips of his stuff...damn! Anyway, thanks for providing the heads up on the album, and the link.

Hey no problem. #I'm a sucker as well. #I heard about them from someone on the cafe as well. #I hope you enjoy it. #

Now check this one out. #Hot Club of San Francisco w/ Grisman. #I don't know how many tunes he's on but he's listed as a "contributing artists".

Joe Craven has a whole album of Django tunes fused with latin music influences. Django Latino.

Djangofest Northwest is the last week in Sept. on Whidbey Island, about 30 mi north of Seattle. I've been going every year and mandos are few and far between, but well recieved. Great Djamming and great musicians. It's mostly guitars, but other instruments include accordions, clarinets, violins, and there's a fellow who can play Django solos note for note on his chromatic harmonica.

Another fab player from Madison, Wisconsin: #Jim Nikora, who studied with Jethro hisself. #Doesn't play out much, but when he does, people listen!
