    It's an A-12. Gibson made them for a short time in the late 60's early 70's.

    I think that is an A-5, I'm pretty sure the ones with f-holes were A-12's

    Shame on me. With the latest run of re-stickered Johnsons being passed off as vintage Gibsons, I thought it had to be one of those. Guess I'm getting cynical.

    I wouldn't want to offend anyone on the cafe who has one of these and likes it, but if I were Gibson, I'd buy these up just to get them out of the public view!

    I Googled three pix of A-12's, and all had f-holes. Not definitive, but I'd say this 'un is an A-5.

    Not the apex of Gibson's luthiery, perhaps, and that neck looks pretty rough. Wouldn't go $1.5K for it, Gibson or no.

    That is indeed the newly designed A5 of the early 70's.
    Sounds worse then it looks. Make excellent wall hangers.

    Yup a-5 all the way i dont know about the sound but the ones with the f holes the a-12's dont sound bad.
