I'd like to think his tongue is firmly in cheek here. I have often seen that picture of Bob Marley (not Stevie Wonder) holding his guitar. The Bela picture looks like a poor edit, and the shirt looks like a run of the mill Gap denim. Neat story, though. More of the joys of EBay.

LOL! That's the biggest bunch of baloney I have ever seen. The "Stevie Wonder" photo is obviously Bob Marley. I think the "Bela Fleck" photo may be a young Tiny Tim, but it obviously isn't Bela. And the "GAP" logo being the guy's intials is priceless! This guy is creative, I will give him that. He is probably just trying to see how big a sucker he can catch. He will probably sell that shirt! I'd like to see a picture of the person who buys it. This seller will undoubtedly go on to a bright future in making infomercials!

The whole ad is hilarious. #The seller seems so sincere. #Maybe he believes it to be true.

Don't you think it is ironic that the picture of the actual grandfather shows him WITHOUT a shirt?

the seller is a member of some of the guitar forums. #several weeks ago he started a row over someone's comment concerning a certain famous guitar maker by literally calling this person a "shill" (someone who poses as an uninterested party to lure others into purchasing from a certain company or a certain item, etc.)

as the accused "shill" was in fact a senior member of the group who many had met in person and knew a ruckus ensued and the offender disappeared.

perhaps this is his way of protesting.

so many mandolins, so little time.

I think I recognize that photo, from an old history of the martial arts book I have. I'd have to dig through a box of books in my basement to verify it.

all in all, one of the funniest things i've seen on the internet. i saw it last night, and i'm taking it as a commentary on all the ebay ads that say things like "gibson? mandolin" and obviously aren't. my hat is off to the author of that auction.

"Grandpa" is Gichin Funakoshi, originator of Japanese karate (Shotokan style). I thought the ad looked like some of the work Maverick has done. Remember Guitar God?

They are selling the shirt right off of poor old grandpa's back? That's sad.

He does not even say the size of the shirt. Dang, I would hate to win such a valuble shirt and not be able to wear it.

It's almost as good as the guy who was supposedly selling his ex-wife's Beanie Babies.

I'm not a seasoned veteran, but I'd be glad to look at the site. What is the address?
