    Thumbs down

hey I am forwarding a email from a friend who had two instruments stolen in Colorado Springs. #Please be on the look out for someone trying to sell them. #

    Hello everyone,

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Sebie Denson. #I live in Colorado Springs. #

I'm writing to ask you to keep your eyes peeled for two instruments that I had stolen recently. #

One 1985 Flatiron F-5 Mandolin serial number 85050070 - You'll see from the attached photos that it has definitely been used. #It's in an f-style case with a grey colorado case cover on it. #

One 2000 Martin HD28LSV - serial number 674967 - This is the Tony Rice model with a large sound hole and no fret markers on the neck. #There are check marks in the finish where you drape your arm over and the front binding on both bottom lobes of the guitar is crushed from an unfortunate drop.

I ask that if you see these instruments anywhere please let me know. #

    I can be contacted at:

Looks like the seller has been made aware that it was stolen - did the guitar ever re-appear?

The seller knows it's stolen and isn't ending the auction. I reported it to ebay as well. They have a menu selction for reporting stolen goods for sale. If the seller says it's stolen then he should have pulled the auction.

Wow ... I was looking at that eBay listing; it was clear that the seller didn't know what he had. I don't get why he doesn't close the auction, though. The reason he gives: "BECAUSE I DID NOT THINK THAT IT WOULD BE FAIR TO THE OTHER BIDDERS." Weird.

The owner of the stolen Mandolin contacted me, and Thanked me for letting him know, He said he had contacted the sheriff as well as the seller. Sure happy he will be getting his Mandolin back. I have found three that were stolen in the last year, and the owners got them back. Better keep you eye on your instrument, Thieves never sleep.
