Calling all Europeans or visitors! The premier pan-European gathering for blue grass music is coming again to the small town of Voorthuizen in the Netherlands, less than an hour east of Amsterdam, this Thursday-Friday-Saturday 01-03 May. Some USA bands will play (Sally Jones, Dick Staber, Carrie Hassler) but the focus is on excellent European bands, a trade show, and of course plenty of jamming.

If you haven't heard the Czech, Slovak, Bulgarian, Norwegian, Swedish, French, Belgian, Dutch, German or Hungarian bluegrass with local folk elements, you have missed some excellent and provocative music.

There are also beginner and advanced mandolin workshops with Kevin Lynch. Jiri Lebeda and Jaroslav Prucha will be exhibiting (and selling) in the trade show, and there are several dealers with good mandolin stock also.

Wow. You Dutch sure ought to be happy. One of the most interesting classical mandolin scenes in Europe, and this, too!
