After 30 years of being a newspaper photograpgher in Helena, Montana, I have decieded to pull the plug and retire. And with that retirement I bought my own retirement gift, this new custom Weber Vintage A. I made only a couple of changes, went with an antique tobbacco stain, recommended by Brett 9 who is alway right), the small diamonds on the fretboard and just top binding. I think it looks great, what do you all think.

Look like a great mando. Congrats on your self-imposed retirement. Im wondering how the notation is...it certainly cant be noting right with it off kilter like that. It needs a little tweeking.

I moved the bridge to get the correct intonation, but I plan on have our local luthier give it the once over.

I would also like to say thanks to Bruce and Rick. Bruce spent at least 90 minutes with me picking out all the wood. He must of tapped on 30 tops and looked at at least that many backs to help me pick out the perfect specimens. The top by the way is Sitka.

George, congradulations on the new Vintage A. I'm drooling!!!! I think those Gallatins look cool with the bound top. Nice pair to keep you company in retirement!! Those guys at Weber sure know their stuff!!

Looks great. I would have that bridge looked at as after it's moved, it could leave an indentation that will be visible.

That looks awesome! I like the more sunburst finish, as opposed to the pumpkin top look, even though I like that as well.

Congratulations on the Vintage A and welcome to the club. I love mine. I have 2 mandolins with finishes similar to your, so for me the "pumkin" was a nice change. The sunburst on yours is really beautifully and tastfully done. What a great way to start you retirement.
