Thanks for all your temporary slot repairs advice. Another question. Prior to discovering my slot was making the buzzing noise I thought it was the bridge and raised it on the bass side (as the D string was buzzing). I forgot to measure the height of the bridge or the height above the 12th fret, as set by my luthier, and I'm not sure what the optimum position is now. I know you're supposed to lower the bridge until it starts buzzing, well what I get (even before any buzzing) is a bit of clanking (I suppose the strings are touching the fingerboard) on the high strings. I can tolerate clanking right at the end board but I do occasionaly head up to the 15th fret. Any thoughts on how to make a proper adjustment please. I notice that Anthony somebody or other on his Musicmoose site talks about experimenting with the bridge and shows a bit of clanking on the higher notes but says this doesn't matter because he has no recordings in view, whatever that's supposed to mean. I don't either but I don't want to set my bridge to low only to find luthier sets it higher when he is "in combat"). All ideas welcome. What would be tolerable height above the 12th fret, as measured by a Euro one coin for example?
