I recently saw a picture of a Rigel A+ with ebony tuner buttons on (what appeared to be) the stock gold Grover tuners, and I liked the look.

There was no way for me to track the photo nor the fella with the ebony tuners, so I ask you all...

Do you know where I can get ebony tuner buttons for the stock gold Grover Tuners on a Rigel A+ Deluxe?

    Many thanks,

    stv

I'd be inclined to check with StewMac to see if they actually have the Grover buttons now or to see if their Waverly Buttons would fit the Grovers. There was an old thread about Ebony buttons on Grovers but it's a little aged. There are also other threads in this list that touch on the subject but you'll have to dig to find what you need. I'd love to find Ebony buttons for my Gibson Grovers.

I don't know if you can get ebony buttons that fit Grovers now, but I couldn't find any when I was looking. The Waverly buttons from Stewmac don't fit unless you re-shape the shafts on the tuners or the holes in the buttons.

John, do the Grover tuners have a square shaft?

Mike, IIRC, the Grover shafts had two flats, and the Waverly buttons had square holes. I'm pretty sure I filed the other two flats on the tuner shafts so that they were square and fit into the holes in the Waverly buttons.

That's what I was hoping. I seem to recall a thread where Paul Hostetter had discussed doing this with other brands of tuners as well.

You might try contacting Mando Medic. He has had them in the past. I believe they are after market since I don't think Grover makes them.
