Ha Ha... I started at 32. Puts me at second or third... Oddly, my playing hasn't improved much in the intervening 6 years. More practice less posting may be in order.

I started music at age 11 (middle school band) but the mando came about just after I turned 40. Maybe mando is my mid-life crisis!

I started around age 11. I wish I'd started earlier! I'm surprised, though, that some started as early as 7, that's pretty rare, especially with mando.

    My beloved Old Wave #83
    Herb Taylor Bouzouki #228
    Mid-Mo M1 #4321 and M14 #176 (my first mandos)

Plus a fiddle, a viola, a cello, another guitar, and (worryingly) three bagpipes.

I started at fifteen, played for about two years, then didn't pick one up until two years ago at twenty-seven.
