    Just though id say a quick hello, only bought a mandolin yesterday and am gonna attempt to learn this fine instrument i already play a little guitar badly so want to be able to do the same on the mando

    any starting off tips be muchly appreciated!

    Hi Matt, are you in Wales by any chance?

    If you want to start with the very basics, I recommend Simon Mayor's instructional books. They are a good way to lay the foundations, then you can move on to more specific things for the kind of music you want to play.
