I noticed that they are scheduled in March at the Birchmere in nothern Virginia. I assume this is a side project to his work with AKUS.

Any info on the band members and musical styles would be appreciated.

I think Justin Moses plays with him. He's a semi-local boy who can play anything with strings.

I believe there is a MySpace page for the band. My guess is that they would do stuff that is closer to traditional bluegrass.

Adam Steffey-Mandolin, Ron Stewart-Banjo, Justin Moses-Fiddle, Barry Bales-Bass and obviously Dan Tyminski.

They one of my favs to listen to, and yes they are more on the traditonal side of todays new/bluegrass.

Yeah, I heard Steffey would continue with Mt. Heart thru the end of '07 and then hook up with Dan's band. There are some tour dates for NC, VA scheduled for after the New Year...should be interesting.

Maybe he needs something to do while Allison's away with Robert Plant?

They will be performing at the River City Bluegrass festival in Portland, OR. #I'm really looking forward to seeing Dan in a bluegrass format!

    Adam Steffey leaving Mountain Heart?

Recently I read that Allison has given her band one (1) year off. Dan's band is scheduled for the 2008 California Bluegrass Association's Father Day Festival in June.

I looked for NC dates on DT's website, but didn't find any. I heard rumor they would be in Durham in Feb.

If so, I REALLY don't want to miss it!

The Dan Tyminski band will be the closing act at Merlefest in Wilkesboro, NC on Sunday, April 28th. For those of you further north, they'll be performing at the Jenny Brook Family Bluegrass Festival in Weston, VT in late June. Should be a great day with David Parmley, Dan Tyminski, and Dan Paisley on Friday. This is going to be a great, "in your face" bluegrass band. - Ted

Thinking a year down the road for 2009, if Alison comes back and that Steffey feller needs a job I am sure she could find a place for him.Lord knows they have been missing something since the day he left. I went and saw her back in the summer, and what a great show...but there has always been something missing after Adam left..IMHO
