I'd love to put a shoulder strap on my case, to make navigating through the airport a little easier. Where could I get rings to mount to my TKL case, so I could clip on a strap?

try a major name auto parts or camping/hiking/hunting store. if not in stock many will order them for you. they cost very little, go with the metal as the plastic always break on me @ inoportune times. also make sure you put large washers on the inside as well as lock washers and that the bolt does'nt protrude too far into the instrument

Put it in a tennis racket case, and you get side pockets as a bonus.

The tennis racket case is a great idea. That's what I do. In addition to side pockets, you also get more protection for the instrument and the case, and I find the tennis racket case attracts less unwanted attention. You will need a triple racket case for most mandolin shaped cases. Sporting goods stores that cater to tennis players should have a good selection.

Another good source for this type of hardware, if you're still considering going that route, are horse tack shops. They have all sorts of cool hardware for harnesses, saddles, etc.

Leatherworker's supply shops (e.g., Tandy) supply this kind of stuff. #With the "D" rings; they come in two flavors - pinched ends or welded into one piece. #I strongly suggest the latter.

I've found that the spacing of the 'D' rings on any case,is usually so far apart that when using a shoulder strap, the strap slides back & forth over the shoulder. That is, if the rings are placed at either end of the case, about 2ft apart as they are on my TKL case.
    # I've found that a much better idea is to have a strap with dog lead 'hooks' on either end & to hook these through the 'D' rings on the handle. That way the weight acts straight down & holds on to the shoulder much better,

FWIW The fitting of a D ring on the bottom edge works well
on the Pegasus for single strap backpack, or shoulder carry.

only need add one, hook into other D ring that is holding the handle.

Try a place that repairs luggage, etc. Should have lots of that type of thing.

I searched D-rings and found a supplier a few months back. I purchased D-rings and strap with the t-nuts for proper installation. Spent about a buck and a half. Lp
