Can anyone point out stores in the state of Washington with a selection of nice mandolins?

The Folkstore on Roosevelt. Hit or miss, but sometimes has nice stuff in. If you can wait until winter, your best bet by far would be to go to Wintergrass (Tacoma, WA) and check out all the booths there.

Thanks for the info. I've been to both of those (actually bought my Morgan Monroe at Dusty Strings, where I've also played some nice Collings). I was hoping to find a selection of new and vintage Gibsons, to see what all the hype is about.

Vintage Gibsons in Seattle are scattered at best. Guitarville in Shoreline has an old F2; Guitar Emporium in Ballard has an old A-style. This at least was true last time I was in either of those places. Dusty Strings will occasionally have one that they've taken in trade or on consignment. I'm not sure that any of the shops in town are active dealers of new Gibsons.
