    Folks,

I'm sorry to anyone who is offended at my gull.

I'm interested in a mandolin to back up my Weber Fern. If you are looking to unload your back up mandolin, or if you have an extra mandolin in the low end range, please check out: http://www.mandolincafe.com/cgi-bin....trieval
Again, I apologize if this post is out of line. Let me know and I'll gladly delete it.

I didn't see anything in your ad about your gull. Do you have pictures of the gull? I live in the desert, do you think it would survive?

Sorry, couldn't help it. #It's in my nature. #Still not sure how your "gull" could be offensive, unless it was full of gall. #I guess I never stop correcting papers, even on the weekend. #For a little more, my old 515 was a killer compared to the 505s I've played. #They used to be under a grand, not sure now. #How about a Glenn student model A? #All those posts about MidMos or Big Muddies are on the money, if you're willing to go oval hole. #I just turned one around in a trade and miss it already. #Good little units, travel well, usually come with a few spare bridges. #Good luck, Frank
My Bad, Kevin, I just remembered you are looking for trades. Ignore all the helpful suggestions above, though you might want to consider the more economical Fullertons people have been raving about.

Martin backpacker has become my favored beater.
    playability is still there.
    the neck shape is excellent.
action easily adjusted with a bit of sanding to shorten the bridge height.

and, has shrugged off actual abuse well.

can sling the bag over my head and shoulder
and still carry more stuff in the messenger bag

    it's just not round.

There's a Glenn A-5 on Ebay with a starting bid of $600. It appears to be a Student Model. Worth checking out! If it's like the Glenn I bought off the classifieds, then it will be a much better mandolin than an Eastman.
