I was planning to post a photo of my new O2-C by Peter Sawchyn, but sorry, can't figure out where/how to download photo to message in edit mode -- maybe I'll try again.

I like the f style oval holes. That is an attractive instrument. I am sure others will ask if I don't. Do you have any pictures of the back or any close ups?

    Very beautiful and nice colour.
Does it have a raised fingerboard? Would you like to talk a bit about the sound ?

Looks great Bruce and I'm sure it sounds great as well. #I'd love to hear a review and see more pics.

This instrument was based on a prototype that Peter built for Butch B. on request a few years ago, and he's made a few since. It follows the classic Gibson F4 design, including inner bracing and non-raised (but radiused) fingerboard, but varies in that the fingerboard is extended and joins at the 15th fret rather than the 12th, giving the instrument a bit more flexibility in upper register. #He used sitka spruce for the top and bigleaf maple for back and sides, and finishes with what he calls a "French Violin" stain. #I ordered the finish to match my A-style octave mando I got from him last year. #It sounds like an old Gibson oval-hole F2 or F4, i.e. sweet and open, but with a bit more depth and volume (at least over ones I've played). Anyway, I like it! #This is out of the box, so it should mellow up over time. #I also have an oval-hole A clone of Peter's that is sounding better now than when I first got it 6 months ago. #I'll post a couple of more pics separately.

Finally, close-up of front. #BTW, he uses Allen tailpiece and Schaller tuners.

Beautiful. I've only played one Sawchyn, but it was perfect and had wonderful tone.

That's a beauty. I like everything about that Mandolin & the back looks positively edible. The rich Amber colour is awesome !. Just for the benefit of Jeff B. - drool, drool, drool (is that enough ?, i can do more if required )
