    Default Strap for bowl back

Well I’ve got my Washburn mandolin up and running! Thanks for the advice on the new bridge! Sounds great, though I’m not sure the light gauge strings are ideal. Back to my question: how do you strap this puppy on? Thanks

Look at the second method of attaching a strap I show here and modify it.

I add a sticky mat(meant for car dashboards) to stop it from moving and tilting and just sit with it.

    Isn’t using a strap with a bowl-back equivalent to using a cape on a flat-back?

Well, you could swap out the light gauge strings for some heavier ones and watch your Washburn implode on you while you're fiddling with your strap attachment.

    Mariachi strap
Eastman MD-514 (F body, Sitka & maple, oval hole)
    Klos Carbon Fiber (on order)

And still saving my nickels & dimes & bottle caps & breakfast cereal box tops for my lifetime mandolin.

Frankly you don't need a strap with a bowlback...seriously. You can even stroll without a strap.

Question Re: Strap for bowl back

+1) Mariachi strap - I.e. hooks into the soundhole and cord goes under and behind , and a loop goes over your head.
But sitting in a chair behind your music sheets on the stand seems more traditional/classical.
