The woodsongs website has many great videos, especially the Thile/Marshall video, which is about an hour long. I watched the whole video and it is my favorite. The problem is, I want to watch it again and again and skip to certain parts, but to do this I have to wait for the whole video to finish streaming, which takes forever. Does anyone know how to download the video, or any streaming videos on media player?
    Obviously you're not a golfer.

From the archives you should be able to right click on the WMV video button and then select save as and download it that way. I have done this in the past and I believe this still works.

PS: sure would be nice if the MP4 video format was available so I could get them on my iPod without going through the hassle of converting WMV to MP4

Yes, you should just be able to right click and save the WMV file to your hard drive. And the video is almost 3 hours long including the post show performance (about 80min) and all the promos and drawing and other inbetween stuff.

Yeah, but most kids know nearly everything about computers. I am very greatful that xbox, myspace, etc never interested me, and once I picked up a mandolin they never had a chance.

There are some fantastic perfromances on there, and I appreciate the show giving exposure to so many great artists. On the other hand, I could do without the host's overly earnest presentation.

He is a good host. He asks the questions I would want to ask the artists myself. But you are correct he is a pretty serious guy.

Perhaps that is a technique, let the levity come from the artists.

Compare with Garrison Keillor, who I sometimes wish took his musical guests more seriously.
