This photo is on the efolkmusic site. It was supposedly taken at a Kentucky Headhunters concert after they had a hit with Walk Softly On This Heart Of Mine.

Unless I missed something, there's no mention of playing with Bill in any photos- you'd think they'd be proud of it if it happened.

Might be that guy who is supposed to be his (ilegitimate) son, who does bear a remarkable physical resemblance . . .

The person who mentioned the Headhunters connection is pretty well known and I don't think he would say it if he didn't think it so. #You can read the thread here

Looks a bit like a photoshop. His left arm seems long and the sleeve off color.

And it also doesnt quite look like him. But what do I know.

I won't believe it unless I see a phase shifter and wah wah pedal on the floor.
He might be playing 'The Little Girl and The Dreadful Stack of Marshalls'!

This doesn't look like Photoshop work to me. The light is consistent. Don't know if it's Bill, but I don't see any obvious signs of alteration to the photo.

If he was in a Devo hat I would say photoshopped. Did he not know how to play guitar... If he did, what's to say he didn't pick one up and goof around on it a bit. The fact that he's picking on a pink guitar bumps him up another notch in my estimation! Cool photo.

That photo looks legit to me.
There is supposedly photo documentation of Bill playing a Tele out at a local club near him one night. The Bell Buckle? Maybe this is that photo?

Can't tell for sure about the head and face, but I'd be willing to bet that's his picking hand!

He did indeed play guitar, and in the "Mandolin of Bill Monroe" video he can be seen playing an Ovation Adamas - which is nearly as weird as seeing him play a pink Tele.

Yup, there's something about his left sleeve. He'd surely have played a Paisley Tele anyway.

Does this mean a pink tele is welcome at a BG jam?

Monroe on stage without his hat and glasses on! It's a photoshop.. Not really sure it's even Bill. Looks more like that guy that wrote "Appache" on a pink Fender Tele back in the 50's or it's that Al Jones guy that will be headlining the Rosine Jers.Ridge Festival in late Sept.
If it were the Headhunters you would be seeing the whole stage performers not a photoshop circle of just Bill's double.
