.... or does that defeat the purpose? We like singing around single mic, but if we can HEAR ourselves maybe this isn't an issue with the Bose PAS??? So...

#1 What experience have you with a condenser where all sing around the same mic?

#2 If using dynamic mics we'd have to have 7. Can the single unit Bose PAS handle 7 mics?

Guess I oughta go out to a local store and check these out. I played through one at an open mic and loved the sound, but didn't get a chance to look it over too much. It was set up with dynamic mics and there were two towers and bass units. That'd be kinda pricey if a four man band had to go with the double system. We only get about 300-500 per gig.

I have a Bose PAS system and one bass module. I plug a small Behringer 4 channel mixer into the Bose.

We run two vocal mics (SM-58's)and fiddle, mandolin and upright bass (All Fishman piezo except mandolin which is Macintyre Feather) through it and it works great for small to medium sized venues. I haven't tried the one mic setup throught it yet mainly because I haven't picked up a good condensor mic, I have a cheapie Marshal but I use it for my homemade recordings, I want to get a good one and try it.

According to Bose you can use a condensor mic with the system, you put the tower in front of you instead of behind you. They even have the results of testing they did somewhere on their Bose PAS Forumwhich is a very informative site with lots of helpful people on it that can answer all your questions.

I love the way I can set up literaly in minutes and be ready to go. I've had good results with the system except for last Sat's gig. Come to find out nothing wrong with the system in is my lack of experience in sound reinforcement ie; operator error! #

One day I would like to pick up another tower. I have seen twin towers and a single condensor mic in action in a large auditoreum (seated maybe 500) and it worked GREAT!

Go check out the Forum you can get all your questions answered. good luck

And yes the system could run 7 mics through it if you hooked up a mixer with enough inputs but the Bose people will tell you you need more towers because they are in the business of selling them. It would work but IMHO if you had that many mics and plugged in instruments too you probably would need another tower for optimal sound.

Thanks, Jim. I think I'm going to go try out the new Model II systems today at the local GC.
