    With few exceptions they're pretty inexpensive. So try a bunch from light to heavy and see what suits ya.

    And even if you do end up using the fairly expensive brands, you can experiment with shapes and thickness in the inexpensive plastic versions first.

    Personally, I use the large rounded triangle shape also. #I like to have lots of contact area so I don't have to grip as hard.

    Rounder and/or thicker tends to mellow the sound. Thinner and /or more pointed tends to brighten the sound. More a matter of shape rather than size. Size preference relates more to grip and comfort than anything else. Choose the direction you want your sound to go in and try different combinations of shape and gauge til you get what you want
