A customer brought in a Antares Mandolin, very nice archtop an "A" model, wanted me to set up with new tuners and bridge and strings, didnt give me much details except he had bought it from an old freind before his passing.
I examined the inside to see who manufactured it but there wasnt any name or identfication, just Antares on peg head. I noticed that the tone bars are very close together almost glued in next to tail block and narrow down to a meeting at the head block. I have never seen this before, I was just wondering on what type of bridge to use. There wasnt any bridge when it was brought in, only parts of what appears to be a banjo bridge and the lower part of a arch top bridge, I have several extra bridges for arch top s but I am not sure that is what to use because of where the tone bars are located,,any help would be appreciated..........Dennis in Arizona
