I'm wondering if anyone can translate this label from this Greek-style zouk:

I could help you with this but it appears that the picture in question is missing from the group of photos that you have posted.

I posted another link above--seems that the second link may be working.

first word "baglamades" is plural of baglamas - the very small 3 course bouzouki.
    second word "bouzoukia" means "bouzoukis".
The next word "Heiropoihta" I don't know.
The next line I think is the builder's name:
"Katasmeni(?) P. Kevorkian", which I think is Armenian.
The next line "Agolou 105" would be his address. "Xayteia" probably the city, then "telephone" abbreviated and the number "3241084" it looks like.

Thank you, Roger. Have you any familiarity with this builder's instruments?, or any opinion you may offer on the general quality by its appearance?

    Heiropoihta means "Handmade"

Katasmeni again means something similar, "Handmade by" or roughly thereabouts. The initials of his name and then the last name 'Kevorkian'.

The rest of the info from zoukBoy is correct.

BTW, My brother-in-law is Greek so he gets the credit for helping with this. I'm just the messenger.:D

    Dr. Jack Kevorkian makes bouzoukis?

Actually I was outbid on this instrument by $1. Good value for the money if the neck is straight. I wouldn't think much of the pickup. I'm not impressed by the tuners either - they are vertical tuners made to go horizontal. Certainly not a professional instrument, but if it plays nicely then it's a good buy. Is the fretboard ebony or just painted black like some? Also I've seen one with white paint on top of the bridge to look like bone.

Me too--but by more than $1.

Here's what I did with my stimulaus check:

    Dio Dino 3-30 BW.

Cat, what price range was that in? I don't see that style of bouzouki at Elderly. There was one like this on Ebarf but it was shoddily made and high-priced.

I was avoiding saying it because Elderly was selling it for $1675 less than what Dino said he sells them for (I'd heard that it was bad form to boast about one's killer deals): http://www.elderly.com/vintage/items/90U-5079.htm # Elderly doesn't offer Greek-style bouzoukis.

It's Dino's 3-30 BW -- top row right and third row left:

The folks at playbouzouki.com opine that this is, in fact, a Sakis.

I still wonder about the bridge though, is it just painted white on the top? A definite bargain though.

I can't believe a builder would use an inferior bridge on a $2000 instrument.

I just got a second chance offer on the above instrument. I wonder what's wrong with it.....gotta think about this one...

Cool--maybe it's a sweet deal. When I was in contact with the seller, they told me the top was flat and not concave. If the neck is decent, it should be pretty good and, maybe, perfectly good.
