I have a Kentucky KN200S #10120. I believe it was made in the early 1980s. I have upgraded to a Collings MT2, but I still keep the Kentucky and take it to festivals, etc. Last night one of the tuning buttons broke off. I notice that most of the others are cracked. Saga advertises Golden Gate tuner button replacements on their website. Will they work? If so, where to I get them?

If I find some, do I glue them on?

    Thanks

Why not ask the people at Saga? Better yet, why not replace the tuners? Why risk a recurrence of the problem in the field?

There is a technique for reconstituting plastic buttons. I've forgotten if I saw in it GAL, or where, but it has to do with taking thin viscosisity super glue and soaking or saturating the button and then sanding and buffing the button. I have had some luck with a small amount of acetone on these buttons too. If all else fails, call, don't write Saga. I may even have one or two of these buttons laying around in the shop, but I will need to see the shaft end. kenc
