Very nice! How would you compare the two?
Play, play, play!

Congrats Pearl! Hopefully it was worth the wait!
Thanks Scott...you now how long I have wanted one...LOL
The sounds are both unique and different. The MM has the classic Gibson tone..and alot of it.It hasnt been played alot and I expect it to sound better as time goes on. I would say the Kimble is more of a modern sound, but still having alot of Mojo and volume. As I told Scotti Adams, its the first mandolin I havent traded off when I found a new one.
I couldnt see me selling her unless a financial crisis happened. The neck on the Kimble is smaller and has a radius versus a flat board. I have bigger hands so that bigger neck feels good. The MM seems like it likes to be driven harder, and really responds well. As far as volume, the MM is a little louder but not much. I dont think I have been this excited since my Kids were born

Forget the mandolins. <VBG>
Is that one of them now-vintage Price-Nelson cases?
Okay... nice mandolins and case!
Congrats on a dream machine, man look at it gleam.
The cases aren't vintage just yet. I've talked to Mr. Price lately and he still has a few at the shop.

Yep thats the Price Nelson case...it has a Gibson logo on it which makess it nice and unique.
That case is very nice and fits perfectly. I will use the standard MM case during regular travels and save the PN for those cold Ohio Months. It is awesome though
Hey Mandoplucker, tell me more about the MM....I am curious as to its history. It doesnt have much fretwear and shows little signs of being played.

Hey Brad, we will have to hook up some time, I live about 1 hour out of Cincy in Brown county. Will you be attending the Amvets BG festival this month? In Hillsboro. Will did some setup work on two of my Mandolins, plus he let me play the Carbon Fiber prototype when he had it for a couple days, great guy!

Hey F5G
we just played up your way...in Hillsboro. Thats probably a little north of you though.
I would absolutely love to hook up sometime and steal some licks from ya...Maybe we can have that Scotti Adams guy in the mix too....I believe he also is in Brown County.
Dont think that I will be at that festival, but its nice to know where all of the pickers are.
Thanks !!!

We have played in Hillsboro many times. Did you play at the Colony Theatre or at one of the churches? Where in Cincy do you live? My daughters take Banjo and Fiddle lessons from Kitty and Vern McCyntire.Originally Posted by (Bradley @ May 15 2007, 12:23)

We played at the Colony Theatre...very neat place ! That little town reminded of Rockastle County Kentucky where my family roots run to.
I live in Fairfield Township (where Bypass 4 meets Route 4)
I have known Kitty and Vernon for at least 20 years. They have done alot to promote Bluegrass in our area. Both are fine folks
