    Although he thought it was made in Europe, the label says clearly it was made in New York. A large part of the label is completely faded away.

    It has a nasty crack on the side. The crack looks like it was filled with glue, so it probably isn't a very good repair. I tried stringing it up with the lightest strings I could find, and tuning to FCGD, but it seemed to pull the neck forward.

    If it is worthwhile, I'll take it to the local luthier and see what he can do with it.
