According to the dealer, the Passernig I've got on hold should be done within the next two weeks. I'm not going to hold my breath, but I think it's time to get fired up.

Of course, just over the last few weeks my Collings MF seems to really be coming into its own. This might be tough!

I am anxiously awaiting word on your mando. Mine will be from different woods (Adirondack top, red spruce back/sides), but I am interested to see what you think. Are you thinking of selling it if you like the MF better? I have to wait until June, bummer. Good luck on the wait.

I'll take my Collings up so I can A/B them in the store. If it's close, I'll keep both until I decide which to keep. If the Passernig seems to have something special, I'll probably try to sell my MF, though it's definitely maturing and starting to speak to me in a way it hasn't up 'til now. I guess it's like a golf club that you threaten to replace....all of a sudden it becomes your favorite

Hey Mike, have you gotten your Passernig yet? Is yours the 'F' style with pear wood that Smokey Mnt. Guitars was telling me about. If so, sounds like there was a little delay in Stefan getting the instrument out, bummer. Mine should be in in 2-3 weeks, can't wait. My main concern is the neck, I really want a 1-3/16" neck due to hand issues, and of course, Stefan does nothing custom on his mandos. Sound wise they "sound" like they are going to be hard to beat.

I just talked to Stefan and it looks like mine is 4-6 weeks out, can't wait. He is a very nice guy and it sounds like he is happy with the progress so far. He even said he has the neck a little wider and bigger, which I did not think he would do - thanks Stefan! No rush on this end, rather he spend whatever time he needs to get it just like he wants it (not that I am not chomping at the bit to get it, mind you).

Evidently, the pearwood 'F' is on the way to the lucky new owner, congrats.
