Image below courtesy of James Dooms, and his note follows:

I produce TV commercials for a living, and was in Beaver Dam, KY Friday. I saw the sign telling me I was within 7 miles of Jerusalem Ridge, so I drove over and took the photo with my video camera. Therefore, the resolution is 720x486, but I Photoshopped it a little for effect. Feel free to make it available for all of the café visitors. I'm using it as wallpaper on my edit suite computer at work now.
    Thanks,

If you watch any RFD-TV there is a show called Cumberland Highlanders that broadcasts from there. There is some good music but that Campbell "Doc" Mercer fella can be hard to take some times (now watch he will be a member here and take me seriously)

What a fantastic restoration. I remember seeing a video of Bill walking through the place in his much later years, and it was in utter shambles.

    Thanks for sharing!

Looks pretty pristine. Is the house a museum?

Very nice. Thanks. A restoration like this is quite a project both in the practical and bureaucratic senses. Someone should ask Mike Compton to post the drawing Bill made for him showing where various family members lived in the house. It's quite interesting.

I love Jerusalem Ridge and my "promo" head shot is me out in front of it. Marvelous restoration and a place much in need of our support to continue operation since my understanding is that they have yet to get state support.

Note: As I looked at that photo, I must proudly pass on that I've lost 35 to 40 pounds since then. Hopefully one day I'll be half the man I used to be

They do a BG festival there every year too now. I believe in September. Watch RFD-TV channel 379 on Directv for the Cumberland Highlanders show..they always promote the foundation and the festival.
Jim, You need to retake an after photo but you need a cowboy hat!

    JR:
Your overall strap must be hiding your scroll. Has to be one if you are at Jerusalem Ridge, eh?

Here is Cambell and myself at the Old Home Place; I was traveling and just popped in. Cambell is a great guy, and a great picker.

Great home place photo! Here is a picture that I took of a 13 year old picking in the shadow of the old home place during the Jerusalem Ridge Festival 2006. His name is Preston Pugh, from Georgia, and he had just come off the main stage after playing "Get Up John" with a thunderous response. He hung out and jammed all afternoon. This kid is good!! Mike Compton and Brad Laird are working with him. I think that Mr. Monroe would be proud to hear his music played by this younger generation.
